SANGEAN Warranty Policy

Coverage
SANGEAN AMERICA INC. provides a 1-Year Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty for all new radios (90 days for refurbished products), ensuring they are free from defects in materials and workmanship during regular use.

 

Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:

  • Misuse or accidental damage.
  • Repairs or modifications made by unauthorized personnel.
  • Damage caused by leaking, defective, or expired batteries.

 

Repair or Replacement Terms
If a manufacturing defect or malfunction occurs within the warranty period, SANGEAN AMERICA INC. will repair or replace the product free of charge. However, a small fee is required for handling, packaging, return postage, and insurance.

 

⚠️ IMPORTANT
If you send in your radio for warranty repair and our technicians determine that the issue is not due to a manufacturing defect but rather due to customer-caused damage (such as misuse, impact, liquid damage, battery leakage, or unauthorized modifications), you will be responsible for the full cost of the repair. In this case, our service team will contact you with a repair estimate before proceeding.

 

What to Include with Your Product:

  • Proof of purchase showing the date of acquisition.
  • A letter explaining the issue with the product.
  • Your current and complete contact information.
  • Payment to cover processing and return postage:
    • $12 for Pocket Radios
    • $15 for Portable and Tabletop Radios
    • For Canadian customers: $15 USD (pocket models) or $25 USD (portable/tabletop models)

 

Shipping Instructions

  • Remove Batteries: Take out any batteries to avoid potential damage and voiding of the warranty.
  • Include Accessories: Send all original accessories such as power cords, adapters, antennas, and remotes.
  • Secure Packaging: Use protective materials like bubble wrap, peanuts, air packets, or newspaper for safe shipping.
  • Insure and Track: Insure your package for the radio’s full retail value and use a shipping method with tracking or delivery confirmation. SANGEAN is not responsible for lost packages.

 

Repair Timeline

Repairs typically take 3–6 weeks to complete and return.
